Downtown Orlando is the largest urban center in Central Florida and a world-class city. It’s home to residential and commercial towers, local and state government offices, sports facilities, performing arts theaters, art galleries, a movie theater, retail, nightclubs, renowned restaurants and parks. Downtown Orlando is also the location of numerous festivals, parades, and other high-profile events year-round. Downtown is removed from the tourist areas, which are located in the southern half of the city. It’s a vibrant and historic urban neighborhood with easy access to cultural arts venues and a thriving business district. In fact, Downtown Orlando is the economic engine driving all of Central Florida’s economy. Downtown is currently enjoying a historic cultural arts-and-entertainment renaissance through the development and construction of three state-of-the-art community venues: the new Amway Center, home to the Orlando Magic, a world-class performing arts center and an upgraded Florida Citrus Bowl. Orlando has recently received national recognition from Forbes magazine, which ranks Metro Orlando fourth on their annual list of “Most Wired Cities.” And Fast Company Magazine ranked Orlando as a fast city full of innovation.
